Today I think I can safely say that all of us are thankful for the new quiet mowing going on at our place. The mowing humans have been coming to our place for a long time and I’m pretty sure you might remember me or one of the others mentioning them. They were sure noisy and I don’t think they knew the meaning of quiet. Simon would always hide as would Maxwell and Macy. Sometimes Seal would hide if was was especially noisy. Kiki and I weren’t really bothered by the noise but it was pretty annoying. The ferals would go into panic mode and run off to who knows where.
Well, all that changed recently. The mower humans stopping showing up on schedule and sometimes not at all. Our yard was getting that modern jungle look. So, the Dad fired them. The Dad also bought a mower that runs on Lithium Ion batteries and the Dad is doing the mowing himself. Let me tell you, that new mower is so quiet, we almost can’t even here it in the house. Simon and the others no longer hide on mowing day and even Macy watched Dad mow from the back window. Oh, and the ferals no longer panic, they just stroll a little ways out of the way and watch. We’re sure thankful for that quiet mowing, thanks Dad!

Wow, Brian, that’s great! I’ll bet you already know that those batteries in your new mower are more environmentally friendly, too. So now you have a quiet mower that is more kitty-friendly as well. Way to go!

Our dad has one of those mowers. We can’t even hear it in the house. Mom would never go work in the yard when Dad was using the old mower, and he had to wear earplugs. We are happy you all no longer have to endure the noise. Mom is being a bum and is not posting on Thursday. Sometimes she says that she just needs a day off. Pffft. TBT has a riding mower, an that is kinna noisy. But unlike some neighbors who mow at 8 AM and wake us all up, he does it in the afternoon (an feeds us just before he does, so we are all nappy and calm. that is super! we would love that too… our whole hood is a mix of scary noises when all neighbors use the time between rain and more rain…

Brian, hot work for your dad, but also some extra exercise. Our neighbor has battery mower, and if I did not see her pushing, I would not even know about it.
Good for your dad for firing the slack workers. I’m glad he now has a mower that’s quiet! (The company that mows our complex is VERY noisy, maybe they should invest in newer equipment too!)
Mowers and mowing is always a loud activity. How nice you have a quiet mower now. Sometimes when a service falls apart it turns out to be a good thing.

I agree Brian – QUIET mowing is the BEST mowing! My Mom mows our yard with the lawn tractor and it’s not TOOOO noisy – I’m used to it. A NOISELESS tractor would be swell – I’ll mention that to Mom. We’re very thankful that you give us a spot to share our thankfuls every week Brian!

I did not know there is a mower like that. Bob’s is OLD and really loud, but none of our dogs paid any mind to it. it is great excercise for dad and you have the run of watching instead of hiding. I know the ferals are happy about it too. the world has changed for the worst after the shutdown, more and more it is hard to find reliable workers. you kitties would not be happy here, the big riding tractors do most of the yards around us, and since the houses are close, some days the noise goes… Read more »

Quiet lawn mower?? WOW! That’s great! The guys who cut my grass and my next-door neighbor’s grass have those HUGE machines that make deafening noise – the guys have to wear earplugs. Luckily the noise doesn’t bother the Z kids or me while we’re in the house. It used to bother poor Ducky a lot, but so did the guys being in her yard to begin with, bless her heart.

So glad the dad figured out how to quietly mow! Now, what about that leaf blower?
We have a different strategy at this end. Most of our garden is left unmowed these days, for the wildlife to enjoy. We also found out that the temperature of the soil stays several degrees cooler without mowing. It looks a bit messy but we don’t mind!

Sounds like everybody wins. You get some quieter mowing, the ferals don’t have to run off, and your Dad gets some exercise.

Wow, that sounds like a super great mower your Dad got.We’re really happy for all of you. Mom uses her older Honda mower, and it’s kinda loud. But now that it’s so hot she pays the mower people and they aren’t too loud and it doesn’t scare us. XOXOX Chia, Lucy, Xena and Riley
Wonderful! I’ve considered how nice such a mower would be. Our tiny backyard is a jungle these days because getting our gas powered mower down the slope is beyond my pay grade now. lol
So glad I could join you this week – life has been crazy here! We had no Internet connection for a few days and so I am slowly playing catch-up! So glad you have a quiet mower now (we have the very noisy kind!) but tell Dad to take it easy in the heat!

I’d be thankful if TW get one of those lithium ion vacuums. Even though I’m deaf, it still scares me. Tell your Dad to be careful cos those batteries have caused some really bad fires around here. They tend to blow up.

How absolutely epic, a quiet mower! That’s what we all need, here in Mewton-Clawson peeps mow at really random times, and some use their noisy petrol trimmers all day, fluff knows what they’re strimming! MOL Happy Sunday guys, we hope your day is epic!
