thankful thursday blog hop brian 09072023

Hello everyone, thanks to you all for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  I am always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today we’re thankful for that interesting thing on the TV Remote called the Mute Button.  It’s sure in use here at Brian’s Home.  The peeps are always muting loud and obnoxious commercials, which are most of them and loud and obnoxious politicians, which are most of them.  Of course us kitties don’t mind the quiet when that happens.

Maybe one of these days someone will invent a really smart TV that learns what you don’t want to hear and will automatically silence it for you.  That would be something that could be quiet useful and I’m pretty sure our Mom and Dad would buy one, two or even three.

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

The mute button is great ~ don’t watch a lot of TV and when I do it is usually Netflix or Prime or the classical music station at night ~ sweet photo as always of a dear kitty ~ Xo

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Brian, the mute button is fabulous!
Sometimes, we mute a commercial, then don’t turn the sound back on when the show returns.
Goes to show that not much on TV is worth listening to.
Some of us would rather read a book with a cat on our torso.

A mute button is a most handy thing. We just got rid of TV, too expensive. Life’s quieter with a radio and nice music and only an occasional news report (we listen to a commercial free station).

Pawppy and Petcretary are good users of that little button, too!
It seems they have a similar thing on their phones, too…

Memories of Eric and Flynn

Our mute button gets a lot of use too. Commercials are so loud and stupid now!

YES, a great idea for that button. We’ll buy one TOO. Papa is always saying, “Where is his off-button?”

We agree about the mute button……my Mom uses it all the time – sometimes she says she thinks it would be nice if I had a mute button – especially when I’m asking her to take me outside for a walk! Thanks for hosting thankfuls Brian – it’s a wonderful day of the week to focus on all the things we are thankful for.

Hugs, Teddy

Brian, when I’m on Lynn’s legs during TV time. I often wonder why every 10 minutes it gets really really quiet. Now I understand. Thanks, Precious

A quiet smart TV would be great! Mom watches a lot of shows on the DVR so she an fast forward through the commercials which is nice too.

My Mama and me are both happy for the mute button. Dad blasts the TV loud because he can’t hear, and when the commercials come on Mama mutes them, they are not loud to dad. My doggy ears hear even better than da Mama, so I love the mute button to. Mama uses the OFF button the minute dad goes outside. It seems like they lower the sound on movies but the commercials are loud..

How about we invent a “voice mute”, so all you need to is give a MEOW or the pawrents give a SSHHH and then, magically … silence …

The Mom: I have the TV silenced for ALL thigs except the show I am watching. I hate the continuous same thing commercial(s)- and the nowadays offensive ads with language and visuals that make me retch.

We have Netflix and Amazon Prime so no commercials for us. If a show is political we dump it and move on. I don’t want to hear a bunch of windbags.

I’m thankful that we are heading to the boat of a cruise. Been a while and we’re looking forward to being out on the water.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥

Sometimes our parents wish we came with mute buttons. When we get it in our heads that we need to bark it can be difficult to shut us up so a mute button would come in handy. BOL!

Since our human mom is watching the Big brother Reality show live feeds like a crazed lunatic, she uses the mute button a lot now too. The live feed goes off whenever a houseguest starts talking about something that they don’t want anyone to hear and then the. loud noises come on. Sometimes the rabbits, dogs and cats from a live feed at a shelter come on too. Then we get to watch what we like. We are thankful for that!

a tv that mutes the commercials won’t happen…. how else can they bombard us with repetitive LOUD propaganda? The same commercial over and over and over, really annoy me. The first notes of their music and I’,m reaching for mute.

Charlee: “Ooh, Mama and Dada use the Mute button here when a dog on TV starts barking because that often sets Bean off.”
Chaplin: “And if someone is ringing a doorbell on TV, that sets both dogs off.”
Charlee: “Dogs are a little bit simple-minded you know.”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, what are you saying about us?!”
Chaplin: “Nothing.”

We don’t like those loud and obnoxious commercials either, Brian, but mom rarely hits the mute button. We honestly need to start doing that!

Happy Purrsday guys, and we hope mew’ve been having a great week! We do the same thing here with the remote, as the commercials always seem to be twice the volume of the TV show mew were just watching.

In some places, commercials are made to be interesting, beautiful, artistic, or inspiring. Then we we’d only need the mute for the politicians.

We are thankful for those mute buttons too! Most of the year the pawrents just watch shows that don’t have the annoying commercials…but football is back on which means it’s commercial season!

Thanks for hosting such an awesome hop!

I’m thankful my husband didn’t lose the hearing in his right ear. Deaf in the left, he developed a block that we feared was permanent. If he had the television on I wore ear plugs which annoyed him for some reason. ~scratches head~ That happened a few years ago but this reminded me. Blessings, my dears.

The mute button gets used a lot here as well, as I have zero interest in political bs from any source or any politician. And I certainly don’t want to listen to loud, inane commercials either!

Mom really likes your idea of a smart, muting TV. She only watches subscription TV, like netflix and amazon prime. No commercials to mute on those! XOX Xena

I love the mute button! But since I don’t have cable tv any more, I don’t have to mute the obnoxious politicians. Best decision I ever made! After the dog daddy passed last year, I got rid of the cable because I just wasn’t watching it. I kept Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV+ because I liked their offerings. But now I’m thinking of cancelling Apple TV, since I hardly ever watch it any more. The only change I had to get used to was Music Choice vs SiriusXM. No way I’d go back to cable tv, or satellite for that… Read more »

Our Mom wishes she had a mute button under her pillow so she could mute the TV on Dad who likes to watch shows at full volume. And that is a TV that is NOT even in the bedroom:). We would like a mute button to quiet that word “NO” that we don’t like to hear directed at us.

Oh I learned to navigate that mute button a long time ago from my dad. The quiet is quite nice isn’t it? I have missed you all. I am late but I am here and love seeing you all. You make me smile.

Lucky me, here with you! I like peace and quiet too. Mister Kitty is not a fan of too much noise and late at night, the neighbor dog stands in his yard, under our window and serenades us. Mister kitty finds a quieter spot to sleep but darn it, he never tells me where he goes. Have a blessed weekend everyone.
