Thankful Thursday Blog Hop:  Slowly Returning to Normal with Simon

thankful thursday blog hop simon 01042024

Hello everyone, it’s me Simon and I’m your host today for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks to you all for stopping by for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  We are always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today I’m thankful for slowly returning to normal.  Oh no, not me, I might never be considered normal MOL!  Today I’m talking about things around the house returning to normal.  Now that Christmas and New Years is over we can get some of the things back to where they were before the holiday season started.

The Christmas Tree was undecorated, got taken apart, went into its box and went into the garage.  That means one of my favorite chairs went back to where it belongs in the living room.   That’s a big plus right there, but it does look funny not having the Christmas Tree in the corner.  Oh, there’s still some Christmas things around and the Mom will be putting those things away slowly over the next week or so.  But we are thankful to have most things around the house back to normal.

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Hey Pet Bloggers, don’t forget to leave your daily link over at The Cat Blogosphere for a chance to grab an entry for the end of the month drawing.  Okay, that’s it for now!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

It can be a bit of a letdown when the holidays are over but getting back to normal can be a good thing. We can’t stay all keyed up forever, after all.

Enjoy your chair!

As long as you and your fursibs are healthy and happy, Simon…your humans will do whatever it takes to keep that level.

Simon, it’s nice to have things back to how they are normally, but we, too, will miss our tree when it goes away until next season. 🙂

Simon, it is good indeed to get everything back to the normal routine after the holidays!

First of all:
Happy New Year to all of you!
We are trying to catch up…lost so many days of visiting, due to the holiday busy-ness and then working three shifts in a row…which takes the wind out of one’s sails when you only work 2 days a week….

We are thankful that we finally have time to go and visit our friends…
But *she* still needs to clean up most of the Christm,as things…we generally leave them up till Epiphany…

Happy Thankful Thursday……lots to be thankful for including that Santa obviously made it safely back to the North Pole and will begin getting ready to bring us fun NEXT Christmas. I miss our tree already – it was my favorite nap spot. Thanks to you Angel Brian for continuing with THANKFUL THURSDAY. It’s a good day to think about how lucky we are!

Hugs, Teddy

Great post, Simon. Our Christmas tree is still up but it will be coming down at the end of the weekend, and we too will be returning to normal, whatever that is.

Memories of Eric and Flynn

It is good to get back to normal, but everything looks bare when the tree and the decorations come down. Ours come down on Epiphany after the twelve days of Christmas.

Define normal. I’ll wait. Anyhoo, same here- mom packed the little wooden tree away and put the cat sarcophagus (remember that?) with Cleo, Orbit, Isaac and all their related mementos in it back in the corner, and the the gifts are all sorted and efficiently tucked away (mom’s doing- she’s a stickler). I guess I’m thankful that I’ll get a little of the attention back, which is as it should be.

You are welcome Simon. The M&D got us new cubes to sleep in and look out of and we a re thankful for those. The Mom put extra padding inside so we are Xtra relax 😸😺

Beau doens’t pay much attention to Christmas, but mama does. I am thankful when its all back in the closet because I love minimal STUFF lying around. Simon you pose is perfect today and we are thankful for the photo of you looking so regal. We are thankful we had about 25 spits of rain, 1/8 of inch last night while we slept.

Simon, the funny thing about kitties is they love something new. But on the other hand they always love things to be the way they were.

Decorating is the fun part, taking it all down is not so fun but it is nice to have the house back to normal.

Out homes do tend to look more spacious once the holiday decorations are packed away! I leave my strands of warm white lights up because winters here are grey and gloomy and I love the extra light. So I’m thankful for the cosy glow! I’m not sure about getting back to “normal” however! 😁

Our small Christmas trees are down and put away too, Simon, and we are getting back to normal too. It’s a good thing, right?!

I know what you mean, Simon. Things are normal here and I kinda liked the small upheaval we had there for a few weeks. But I got mom up as always, she followed our usual path…through the house’s rooms opening the miniblinds, to the “necessary”, and then, best of all, to the kitchen to get MY breakfast…then hers). With folks here, I admit I got my breakfast faster because she couldn’t do our routine as fully. K, Simon, let’s play!

Glad things are almost back to normal at your place. Our tree will be up until at least Saturday, probably longer. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO

Christmas is pretty quiet here.
That’s the way we like it. Well, there are those times Sophie goes on a tear around the place. She sounds like a horse galloping through the place.

Things are kinda returnin’ to normal here, too. Tree is still up, which is good, ‘CAUSE I’M PRETTY SURE there are a few ornaments still in need of a good whackin’. But other than that, I guess it’s kinda same ol’, same ol’, once again. PURRS

Simon I giggled out loud at this “ Oh no, not me, I might never be considered normal MOL! ” The same can be said about me. But it makes life interesting

We got as far as watching mom move all the decorations to the back room but they still have to be packed up.

Our Christmas decorations are still up. Our mom likes to see the pretty lights when it’s dark so early so they will stay up for a little while longer.

Mornin’, Simon – We have a little ceramic electric Christmas tree we keep out year-round and use it as a night light. The glow through the tiny colored cone-shaped bulbs is so soft and pretty. I’m glad one of your favorite chairs is back where you like it.

Dismantling Christmas decorations is bittersweet. On one hand you’re happy to have things back to normal and on the other hand you miss the pretty lights. Don’t worry at the rate that time travels it’ll be Christmas again before we know. 🙂 I’m kind of glad things are going back to normal, too.

Love to have Christmas things put away here, too. Putting things back where they belong is a good thing. You’re sure handsome, Simon.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and my best to your wonderful peeps. ♥

The holidays are over here too, Simon. The tree and all the decorations have been put away. The only thing left is the wreath on the front door. The mom leaves that for awhile.

Hello Simon! Look at those lovely, big eyes! We still have our Christmas Tree, until next week. I am not quite ready for things to go back to “normal”! Please let your Mom and Dad know that I had trouble adding a thumbnail to my link – I tried several times. Not sure if the problem is on my end, but thanks for hosting!

Good Morning, We are thankful that there are no more fireworks, phew so the nights have become quiet again, but I am happy to hear your favorite chair is back in place so you can go back to sleeping in it and your life is getting back to its normal (whatever that is) pace. We are especially thankful for your Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, have a great weekend

Simon dude, Pandora is also very thankful that BBHQ has now returned to normal after the festive season! MOL At the moment she’s back in her penthouse condo on the cat tree in the sitting room with the fire roaring as the boiler is on the fritz again, and that’s the only warm room in the entire house.
