Thankful Thursday Blog Hop:  Tis Lawn Season Already

thankful thursday blog hop maxwell 03072024

Hello everyone, it’s me Maxwell and I’m here for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks to you all for stopping by. We are always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today we are thankful that our lawn looks much better, it really does.  It was looking kind of shabby and even had some sprouts popping up. Let’s face it, nobody likes a shabby lawn.  Well, that might not be totally correct.  The local geese seemed to be enjoying their salad bar.

Now that I think about it, maybe the Dad didn’t enjoy getting out there and doing the mowing.  After all, it’s early March and I did hear Dad say something about this being a heck of a way to run Winter MOL!  Now then, if we could just get rid of the monsoonal rains everyone would be happier, especially our sweet feral family.

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Hey Pet Bloggers, don’t forget to leave your daily link over at The Cat Blogosphere for a chance to grab an entry for the end of the month drawing.  Okay, that’s it for now!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

It’s about lawn mowing season here, too, way earlier than anyone but the lawn and yard maintenance people like.

I hope your dad doesn’t overdo it!

Hiya Maxwell! We’re glad your lawn is looking better, but your poor dad — it’s so early to have to start mowing!

to have a good lawn is a good thing… ours is a swamp… we wait till we get some frogs ;O)

Our lawn is greening up, too…way too early for that up here in Michigan!

Sorry I have missed so much…but a huge welcome to Tinsley! Lots of kittens at your place!!

So greatful for springtime now

Memories of Eric and Flynn

Our grass is growing like crazy too. Ivor had to mow our lawn half way through February because he wanted to get it done before he had his second cataract done. The ground was too wet really, and now the grass is just as long again!

Another Thankful Thursday comes around! It is almost lawn season – and I’m thankful to have a yard to wander around in. Mom and Dad expect the lawn service to do the first “treatment” of the season today (the rain here has finally stopped for a day or two). I’ll keep an eye on the guy out the window though to make sure he does his job! Thanks for hosting Thankfuls…’s a weekly highlight for us!

you are in monsoon and we are in drizzles only and needing monsoon. I wish the weather would get straight. You look amazing, Maxwell. poor ferals, at least they have their houses

Maxwell, that is a great update and your Dad is so right about the Monsoonal rains. We had a very wet 2023 + 2024 so far. Early March, rain and wind came back to knock down all the Japanese saucer magnolia petals. Loved the description of local geese enjoying their salad bar! Did see squirrels climb to the very top of our Japanese saucer magnolia where some branches did not yet fully open up. They nibbled on the ‘bud’ salad… Well, all critters have to eat—that’s true but like you pointed out about your sweet feral family coming for a… Read more »

Maxwell, with as much rain as we’ve had here the last couple of weeks we can understand your sentiments. Hope the ferals have secret hideaways during the rain. Our grass has been green all winter because we haven’t had tons of snow to hide it. But it’s too soon to cut grass here.

Our yard is a mess from this way to warm and dry winter but we still have mud all over in the back from the freezing and thawing and sixteen paws trampling on it all the time.

Well, as always, I am thankful for your dad and mom taking on such beautiful babes and loving them. But for me, I am thankful for my girls and for my new place.

Maxwell, our lawn still looks pretty bad. Mostly because the geese are back and messing it up.

I was just telling another CB member that we too have monsoonal rain. It just never STOPS!

Rain is a bother but we need it to keep everything blooming and beautiful. Good thing the ferals have your Dad looking out for them.

Charlee: “You should see our lawn! It’s full of Bermuda buttercup and giant holes in the dirt. Who knows where those holes come from …”
Java Bean: “Ayyyy, I know! I know!”
Charlee: “Yes I know you and Lulu know. I was being facetious.”

It’s not lawn season around here yet, but we bet it will come early for us too. We’ve had some record-breaking warm weather lately so we bet spring will be early here too.

sure is a heck of a way to run winter, we had a few days of cold now and then, the grass was greening and now a teensy gentle snow. Mixed up.

Mornin’, Maxwell – Yes, a tidy lawn is certainly something to be thankful for. I wonder what your geese think with the manicured salad bar?

Our lawn needs some attention and I don’t even want to talk about the weeds elsewhere.

I’m thankful for all my wonderful blogging buddies. We’re here for each other and that’s a wonderful thing.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and my very best to your wonderful peeps. ♥

Yikes – cutting the lawn this early only makes it a longer mowing season. Your poor dad.

Awww… You are so cute. My mint plant has spread outside my teeny tiny raised bed around the mailbox. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have it take over so I could avoid the annoyance of mowing turf type tall fescue? Be well!

We are all very thankful for a bright, warm day today. Mom even went out and blew leaves in the back yard. And we all got to go for a nice walk around the neighborhood.

Sweet photo! I’m afraid I don’t put a whole lot of effort into my lawn. I cut it when I need to and other than that it takes care of itself MOL.

Glad you got that lawn done. Does it rain a lot in your area when it’s spring?

Lawn day, like Ramadan, comes earlier each year.

Happy Friyay guys, and we absolutely agree about having a nice lawn, ours is full of moss again, so that’s a job for Cat Dad and the scarifier in the next few weeks, so we’re really thankful for Cat Dad being able to make our garden look better today! MOL
