Thankful Thursday Blog Hop:  We’re Thankful We’re Not Going

thankful thursday blog hop maxwell 04182024

Hello everyone, it’s me Maxwell and I’m here for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks to you all for stopping by. We are always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today all of us here are thankful for two reasons.  First, we’re all thankful that we’re not the ones that are going to the doctor, I should say Vet.  If we’re like the rest of you kitties, it’s safe to say that you don’t like going to the Vet either.  Actually, most of us are fine when we get there, it’s just the getting there part that is not fun.

The second reason is that it was Dad’s turn to go, again.  Yesterday the Dad had to go visit his Dermatologist, which he does every six months since he had melanoma.  His Derm visit was great, no additional problems. Then today he will be out early to visit his Primary Care Doctor.  It’s time for his annual Medicare Wellness Exam and given he had been in the hospital I’m sure they will have lots to discuss.

We are thankful that the Dad is going to his appointments and trying to stay healthy.  So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Hey Pet Bloggers, don’t forget to leave your daily link over at The Cat Blogosphere for a chance to grab an entry for the end of the month drawing.  Okay, that’s it for now!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! 1. Oh Maxwell, you are such a handsome housepanther!
This human has a series of human vet appointments coming up; I don’t like ’em any more than taking a cat in, but it’s got to be done.
Good to hear that your Dad is doing well.

  2. Oh Maxwell you are precious and great photo of you ~ Wishing your Dad the best with all the medical check ups ~ hugs,

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

  3. Maxwell, what a fabulous portrait of you! We’re glad your Dad’s doc visit went well and we hope his next one will go well, too!

  4. Maxwell, that is a purrfect update and your picture is impressive—showing your big eyes and just barely the tip of your panther fangs.
Well, happy that your Dad did not have any melanoma issues, half a year after that nasty intruder.
Yesterday at the dermatologist and cancer center I had a basal cell removed from lower right leg, where in 2004 I’ve had one before. It is hurting me but I have to wear the long (from below the knee all the way to where it got cut out) wet/cold bandage, with a normal layer bandage + an elastic layer till Tuesday afternoon for a follow up and then again 7 days.
Would love to walk free but also grateful it got caught and entirely removed.
Pieter is still the same, swollen feet, legs and belly. Took him to our primary care doctor this morning and he said to cut the Lasix of 40 mg in half as it also lowers his blood pressure too much. Let’s hope the nasty fluids will leave his lungs and rest of the body.
    Hugs,
    Mariette + Kitties

  5. I’m delighted to hear your dad is so careful and proactive about his health. I know many men, including doctors, who just won’t go to the doctor unless it’s a dire emergency, and by then it’s too late.

  6. One of us was for a longtime totally scared to go to the vet but she finally understood that she won’t get hurt there and now she is much better about it. Our Dad says we kitties can intuit when our pet parents are going to take us to the kitten doc and he says we eavesdrop on the phone calls and we know when the Mom is talking to somebody at t he doc office cuz we hear so well and recognize the voices. He’s right!!😸😺
And all best to your Dad and Mom>🐾🐾

  7. Maxwell, we are thankful for doctors for people’s and for pets. We have our fingers crossed that your dad comes home with a sticker for being a good boy. Up here we are thankful that the tornado siren that ran for 1 hour last night just brought us only 2 inches of rain. I was terrified and hid till it was all over and then I got up on Lynn’s legs and all was well. Precious

  8. Hope everything goes well for The Dad today with his checkups. My Mom goes every 6 months for skin check since she’s had melanoma several times – best to stay on top of that one for sure! I went to the vet (!) yesterday – rabies vaccine and checkup. I passed inspection! Thankful for that and for many things including you guys hosting THANKFULS!

    Hugs, Teddy

  9. we are thankful for Medicare Doctors for sure, both of us had Derm doc check ups on Tuesday and Bob had a clean sweep, he has had 3 melonmas, and I the mom had something removed, it was horrible to see. it is called volcano skin cancer because it erupts suddenly and looks like a volcano… she removed it and we are waiting to see if she got it all.

  10. Mom hates going to human doctors as much as we dislike the vet, but she has to go and we have to go. If it keeps us healthy that is the main thing. Hope the doctor visits go well.

  11. Maxwell, I’m thankful your dad has excellent medical care, though all the human “vet” appointments are not fun. At least none of you have to be to be poked and prodded! ❤️

  12. You’re most handsome, Maxwell. I could kiss that kitty face.

It’s good that dad is going to his primary care doctor for his annual visit. Hubby goes for his long awaited doctors visit today. Hopefully we’ll have answers today.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties and my best to your peeps. ♥

  13. Well H E L L O Kitty Maxwell. Lovely thankful selfie and post.
So very happy Dad received good news at 6 mont dermatology appt. I went for mine on April 15…no new lumps or bumps.
Hope Dad’s senior wellness and kitty vets visist go well
    Hugs Cecilia

  14. Doctor visits are important for people and pets. It may seem a bother but we gotta take care to stay healthy so we can live a good and happy life.

  15. Charlee: “I am not fine when I get to the vet! No way no how! They have to disassemble the carrying crate to get me out of it. They can make me go to the vet, but they can’t make me make it easy on them!”
Java Bean: “We’re glad to hear your Dad’s dermatology appointment went well! I had some ear stuff going on and some skin allergies and now I have a dermatology appointment soon too. It’s with Trixie’s old dermatologist and I hear she is very good, so we will see …”

  16. Mornin’, Maxwell – I’m glad no kitties had to go to the vets, and am glad that Dad’s Dermatologist checkup went without a hitch. Sending good thoughts to Dad for his Medicare Wellness checkup.

  17. We are thankful you don’t have to go to the vets either. We love our vets but it is rarely for a good reason we visit them. We send lots of good thoughts to your dad for his wellness exam. Hopefully no shots:)

We are also thankful for good friends like all of you who are always there for us in the good times and the bad times.

    Woos – Misty and Timber

  18. Looking epic today Maxwell! We’re supurr glad your dad is all ok, the P.A. and Cat Dad also went to the human vet on Monday for a check up and all is well here too! Woo Hoo for that! Wishing mew all a totally terrific weekend, and thank mew for hosting!
