ttsimon 01 05092024

Howdy gang! I sure am glad to be home and I sure am super thankful for all your well wishes and prayers. So, what happened with me? All seemed fine until Saturday late morning and I started going to the litter box, and going, and going and nothing was coming out. I meowed about it to the Mom and Dad. The next thing I know I was going in the carrier, going in the car and ended up with a Vet and a bunch of Vet Techs checking me out. This was the place the Dad told you about before where everything is open and the Dad stayed right with me.

All this attention was from the time the Dad walked in the door with me. No waiting, just immediate emergency attention. After several tests, it was determined that indeed I did have a blockage. Not good news. But I’m sure thankful for the immediate attention to my needs. I had to have a “procedure” to remove the blockage. So, off we went to get me ready and yes, the Dad was right there with me the entire time observing the “procedure” and I’m thankful that the Dad was right there the whole time. All of a sudden I got very sleeping, zonked I was. The Vet explained everything she was doing to my Dad. I’m thankful she was very nice and very kind.

ttsimon 02 05092024

I’m thankful they got the blockage cleared quickly. There was a lot of blood in my bladder, which the Vet said was not that uncommon. She didn’t see any stones or crystals and I’m thankful for that too. This was my new quarters when I woke up. I was in the top right cell.

ttsimon 03 05092024

I’m thankful that they totally understood that I’m a fearful guy. They gave me this tent that I could hide in and feel more comfortable. I gotta say that the tent helped ease my fear a bit, that and the drugs MOL. Hey, what else could make a kitty a little more comfortable?

ttsimon 04 05092024

Bird TV! I’m thankful they set up an iPad just for me and they played Bird-TV videos for me all day long. That helped take my mind of the situation.

ttsimon 05 05092024

This was me waiting for my Tech to come and remove my IV so I could go home. I’m thankful for all her care, I even purred for her. The Vets were great too. However, Tuesday morning I had to go back in the wee early morning hours and I was having problems again. The Dad called the Vet and they said to bring me right in so they could check to see if I was blocked again. I wasn’t, my bladder was empty, they changed my pain meds and I’m doing better once again.

Okay, I’ve taken up enough of your time. So, what are you thankful for today? How scary that must have been, Simon! But that place sounds really awesome, what with Dad getting to be there with you, and the vets being so sensitive to your personality and needs. We are so glad you’re home and doing better, buddy. XO

Sending purrs to you, Simon…we want you to be back to your normal self quickly.
Maxwell, excellent job of introducing!

Marjorie Dawson and Fellow Sufferer Toulouse

Toulouse has insisted I drop by and add his relief and sympathies. He too suffered a similar emergency visit and drama. He points out (however) that HE didn’t get Bird TV on the family iPad and now I am fielding enquiries for a kitty iPawd of his own.

Dearest Simon,
You’ve gained a lot of experience and it is great that you got saved by this female Vet! Our Spooky boy (the first born of the five siblings; three still living) went through the very same and we were oh so grateful as it is deadly if not cared for in time.
Loved your photos and your pensive looks. How comforting is to have your Dad nearby when everything is strange and the poke your arm for that nasty IV…
Big hugs,
Mariette + Kitties

Oh my, Simon, you had a rough time for a bit, didn’t you buddy! It was great though, the way your Dad got you in so quickly and the med team fixed you up so quickly, both times! And the tent accomodations and bird TV sound just great! We’re so glad you’re back at home and okay now!

messymimi's meanderings

I’m thankful they got it all cleared out! I hope it stays that way. Our Dansig the Round did have crystals and blockage at one point and was four days in the pet hospital. Now he’s on a special food and it hasn’t happened since. You have my sympathy and I do hope this never happens again.

I’m relieved to hear that your emergency vet visit went so well and that you just needed your medication tweaked so you’d feel better. It’s wonderful that you have such a wonderful emergency vet to go to. A little tent and bird tv is really going the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable.

Oh Simon, I hate hearing about your issues but I too am thankful that you got looked at so fast and the vet and techs were so good about getting things to moving again, but sorry it took two trips. Most of all I am thankful that you have mom and dad that know what you are dealing with and listened to you. And I need to be sure and check this blog daily, cause all of a sudden today I see that a new babe has joined the bunch. Mom and dad ure have the biggest most loving hearts.

I’m thankful you’re okay and that you have such a wonderful dad and vet care. ❤️

Wow, a lot has been going on at your den since I last visited!! Wow-wee! Chipper arrived and you Simon are home again, after some scary days. I sure hope you’ll be fine now. What a great vet place that was. We here have a big thankful, too… We are thankful that though we had some wicked weather in our area on Tuesday, no one was killed. There was a EF2 tornado and perhaps two or three others. Our son lives very close to there and he is fine, our pastor is without power, and had some minor damage, he lives… Read more »

Simon my friend, you certainly had quite the journey with the vet. It looks like they are a VERY wonderful and caring facility with nice people who try to make their patients as comfy as possible though which is nice AND a big relief for your Dad too. We ALL keep you in our prayers and let’s just hope it’s the last emergency vet visit for you EVER. You are so lucky to be part of a very caring family – at home AND at the vet place!

Good news to hear this morning. Sounds like you have wonderful vets to take care of you. I know your Dad was really worried and is so happy you are ok.

Goodness gracious Simon you have been through the wringer. We are so glad to see you today and actually find out what your experience was like a little bit. I’ll never fully understand unless we have to take one of our own kitties for a problem. We’re thankful you had a great place to go for help.

Simon, what a horrible ordeal. I’m so thankful for your excellent emergency vet care, I’ve never experienced anything that good here, with our after-hours clinic. Or any clinic my angels had been to, actually. What caused the blockage, though, if not stones or crystals? I always thought stones would do it. Anyway, continued prayers and purrs for your recovery. ❤️

We are so glad you are doing so well. Mom has had three male cats and all of them have had either blockages or crystals. It is so painful for you guys. Take it easy a bit longer and we hope this doesn’t happen again.

That was an ordeal, Simon. We are glad you had such good support from your Dad and the vet people. That bird TV is an idea we never heard of! It’s a good thing when it takes your kitten mind off of things. Sounds like very uptodate kitten care!
Now it is time for you, Dad, and Mom too to work in some healing time. 😸😺

Simon, I am grateful for you, your Dad, and the excellent Vet care. I know Mom has been looking for such caring and excellent treatment all her life for her cats. The techs are the ones who cause problems through the years by rough or bad techniques handling the cats. They frighten the cat and things go totally downhill afterward.

We are very thankful that they let the dad stay with you the whole time and what a cute little tent to hide in for comfort. And then what can we say about the bird TV you got to watch. Very classy! Glad you are feeling better and hope no more visits to the hospital

Dear Simon, I understand it’s awful to have to go to the vet, and it’s awful to have a blockage, too. And I want to go to your vet place if I ever have to go and stay or have something done, cause I want a tent and my Mommy to stay with me, too. We’re all just glad you didn’t have another blockage and still have our paws crossed (when we’re laying down) that you recover fully real soon. XOX Xena and my pack

Mornin’, sweet boys – Maxwell, thanks for the great intro and Simon, I’m thankful today that you are on the upswing and home. What a loving, caring vet staff. I’m glad that Dad was able to stay with you and observe. And bird TV! Did you tell your brothers and sisters all about that?!

Dearest Simon. We are so relieved to learn that you are home and on the mend. None of our emergency services would ever allow my Mom L to be with me during treatment. That’s a darn special place you guys have.

Oh goodness. It’s good that dad was with you for the entire time and the post care rocked. A tent and bird TV. Purrfect. We love a happy ending.

I’m thankful that Zane’s catheter was removed this morning. He goes back this afternoon for a sonogram to see if he’s eliminating properly. We are so hoping that the catheter is a thing of the past.
