Happy Tabby Tuesday: Four Favorites with Simon

happy tabby tuesday simon 07012025

Hello everyone, it’s Happy Tabby Tuesday Day and here we are landing in July already. Dang, we are half way through the year already. Isn’t that hard to believe?!?! Before too long we will have to start putting up our Christmas Tree. Anyways, I’m lounging around the living room with four of my favorites today. I’ve got my favorite mat, my donut pillow, my sunflower and my pickle. It doesn’t get much better than that! I like to fetch them to be close to me when I relax.

Speaking of relaxing, we all know the fireworks are coming. Well, some of the newbies might not remember them, but they are coming. Fireworks are legal here so they will be going off often and forever. Our neighborhood has a lake, so the homeowner’s association always has a big fireworks show over the lake. Oh joy! Not!!! But, it is what it is and we’ll just have to get through it like we always do.

Don’t forget to leave your daily link over at The Cat Blogosphere for a chance to grab an entry for the end of the month drawing.  Okay, that’s it for now!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

  1. You look cute with your favourites, Simon. I hope the fireworks aren’t too bad. The village on the other side of the river from us usually has a fireworks display on Guy Fawkes night (Nov. 5th). Eric used to love to sit in the window and watch it. It was far enough away for the sound to be fairly muted.

  2. Well I hope the noise isn’t too scary for you. I’m sure we’ll hear them ’round here, and if they’re anything like last night’s thunder, I’m gonna get ready to head to one of my safe spots to ride them out.

  3. My friend Jackies small dog has a pickle like yours, its her favorite. you are looking ready to play, 1,2,3 GO. ha ha sorry about the fireworks, we get them too..

  4. we really wonder about the fireworks… we all have to change habits and life for the planet, but fireworks is still ok…. a miracle… we would feel better without… specially because we have a heatwave and all things are super dry… one spark and we have an inferno…

  5. Darling picture of you Simon, and that’s an impressive collection you’ve gathered! Fireworks are legal here too, groan. There will be lots of people shooting them nearby, and the town shoots off a show, too.

  6. The super-big fireworks for the city are held in the park next to our building … though they usually do an awesome show to see … just no way at all to avoid the noise, it is just too too close to us …

  7. Bailie is very scared of the boomers. This year for the first time we are traveling and she is coming with us. Hopefully it will not be as loud in a hotel. It is sad humans and pets dread this holiday so much because of the fireworks.

  8. Simon, you sure know how to spend a day!

Please don’t mention that “C” word. Lol. Our summers are so short in my neck of the woods. ☀️🇨🇦

Have a great day and Happy (almost) 4th! Today is Canada Day, so there will be lots of those fireworks most kitties and woofies don’t like.

  9. Simon, I have to start watching the Christmas movies so I can feel cool. Unbelievable how hot and humid it is up north this year. We live on a lake also and there’s going to be fireworks on the night they do the boat parade, fireworks on 4th of july, and fireworks just because they don’t know when to quit.

  10. We have been lucky so far with the fireworks….we hope it stays that way!
Those do look lie some very good comfort toys!
    xoxo,
    Rosy & Sunny

  11. Keep an eye on that donut pillow if ever DH visits. He might think it’s the real thing. He absolutely loves donuts! Wouldn’t he get a big surprise if he took big ole bite of yours? lol

  12. I watch the fireworks from my balcony. They’re noisy! The cats go into hiding places until they are over.

  13. Yep, FIREWORKS. When I had the KING it was horrible. He would shake so bad and there was nothing I could do but to calm him down just a tad, Benadryl. Out hear in NO WHERES VILLE, I heard hardly none last yr. I was planning on going with Amber and the boys to watch this yr. (last I was dealing with those terrible stones), but I told her the other day to bring the dog over here, she would do better here then at their place and alone. This way, she will be with me and maybe here a couple go off. Plus, safe side, Benadryl.
Dad Terry, you do a great job on photo shop.

  14. I love all the toys :-D Fireworks aren’t great for any animal. My lot aren’t so bad with them. Jethro doesn’t like the wind though, that spooks him out. And yes scary it is July already!

  15. You’re so handsome, Simon. It’s good that you have favorite toys. Our kitties do too.

We’re not looking forward to all the fireworks either. We’ll make sure the kitties are as comfortable and safe as we can.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to all the kitties and my very best to their wonderful peeps. ♥

  16. Mornin’, Simon – Happy July! Yes, we get inconsiderate fireworks blasting away here too. I feel for all the critters and of course folks that have a hard time with this. We just do the best we can–close the windows and doors, turn up TVs and have the fans going.

  17. Any chance you spotted Sister Seal’s favorite fish?

Oh yes, the fireworks. The peeps here and we two pups are dreading them and it will be a very long weekend of celebrating. Guess we need to pump up the volume on the TV.

  18. Wow! Looks like Christmas with all the toys ~ fun and sweet photo of you Simon ~ hugs,

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

  19. Mom is saying OMD! She can’t believe we made to the half way of the year. Fireworks are so not good for animals and paws crossed for their safety. I love your toys! Stay safe my friends! Juno

  20. You sure have some great favorites, Simon! We agree with you — fireworks are the worst. The worst part is that people set them off for about a whole month instead of just on the Fourth. Ugh.

  21. We all think fireworks should be limited to licensed venues not near homes. Relax and enjoy your favorite toys while you can this week, sweet Simon

  22. Java Bean: “Ayyy, yum! Donuts!”
Lulu: “Fireworks are NOT legal here, but people are already setting them off. I have been spending a lot of time under Dada’s desk where it is relatively safe.”
Charlee: “You were so nervous, you even let me steal some of your dinner after Dada put it down. I appreciated that, at least until Dada caught me …”
