Sister Saturday with Tinslee: That Was Way Too Noisy

sister saturday tinslee 01 07052025

Are they over yet? Oh, hello everyone, thanks for coming to see me on Sister Saturday. I do really appreciate it, I do. I really would appreciate it if we never had another night of fireworks. But the Dad says that ain’t gonna happy, there will be lots of nights with the boomies. Oh the joy of it all. Not really, most of us aren’t fans of those loud noises. Funny, Kiki and Seal didn’t seem too upset by them at all.

Can you see my big smile? That’s because it is daylight and there aren’t any boomies going on. Besides, I like it right here on the stairs. The stairs are one of my happy places, but there’s lots of happy places here.

I wonder if this basket could be a happy place? I’m really not sure about it though. I have seen Macy in there, she seems to like it. The bottom part just doesn’t look very sturdy to me. I might fall right through that thing. Maybe I’ll just wait and see if anyone else give it a go.

Okay, that’s going to do it for me today. I think I’ll go scout out some good places to hide from the boomies. Y’all take care. Don’t forget to leave your daily link over at The Cat Blogosphere for a chance to grab an entry for the end of the month drawing.  Okay, that’s it for now!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! 1. Aww, that’s so awful that you all have to endure those horrible boomers. We only had a few around here, thankfully…and we are 8 miles north of the big show at the Airport. They just sound like a distant thunderstorm…I don’t think they even had any at our own park like they do some years, yeah!!

Too bad they don’t make earplugs for kitties.

  2. I am sorry those boomies kept going and stopped you getting your naps. I am more sorry that stupid people have to keep doing it night after night. I hope you can find a nice quiet place where you can’t hear them as much.

  3. Tinslee it was very very noisy here last night too! Started around 9PM and didn’t stop until way after midnight. We could even hear fireworks from other neighborhoods. Mom, Dad and I couldn’t sleep until WAY after midnight so today will be “catch up on sleep day” !!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. Tinslee we are going to have our fireworks tonight on the 5th. That’s because the two villages on either side of our community had theirs last night. You would think after all these decades humans would realize this noise is unwanted. You’re a brave Kitty and it looks like you made it through the night very well. Have a great weekend

  5. Tinslee, you are looking so good today, even after the bad night! It was loud, and close, here too and several of our kitties went into hiding. Glad it’s over now, sure hope no one does that tonight.

  6. So agree and understand. The official ones were early, but others went on throughout the night. And as a result, this morning we even had a “hazardous air alert” warning as a result of all the smoke from them on top of high humidity … I, June, hid in the closet all night and mine Mommy woke up with sneezies!

  7. I agree with you Tinslee the people around my house that were putting off fireworks 🎇 well the fireworks literally shook my whole Bedroom and my Bedroom windows

  8. Tinslee I 900% agree with you and the sibling. Our neighborhood dunce…3 houses from us decided it was a GREAT idea to set them off at the end of his driveway. Thankful all stay up at his end of the street but I saw many very ear piercing ones head up then the sparks went across the street toward very tall pines.
May tonight we all have the sound of silence
    Hugs cecilia

  9. I do not like the loud boomers, I am glad they are over for now at least.
Tinslee, you are a beautiful cat! Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

  10. Mornin’, Tinslee – The fireworks were never this loud back when I was a youngun. The local park which was a few miles away from our home put on a display, and us kids watched from our kitchen window. They were colorful and pretty, but not real noisy. Now inconsiderate imbeciles blast away illegal fireworks. Ugh

  11. so glad the booms are over for you and you look so cute wandering in your house checking out what you like or do not. We have a good night, only 3 neighbors did fireworks and all at one time, while the city ones were going off. we all three did good, got enough sleep. it was really nasty weather, so am hoping they don’t do it tonight. at least we all slept good

  12. Charlee: “It was quite noisy here last night too! Fortunately the only one of us who it really bothers is Lulu, and she had her Mutt Muffs on. Right, Lulu?”
    Lulu: “WHAT?”
Charlee: “I said you were able to sleep last night because you had your Mutt Muffs on.”
Lulu: “SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU.”
Charlee: “You can take your Mutt Muffs off now.”
Lulu: “I HAVE TO LEAVE MY MUTT MUFFS ON FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER DAY, TALK TO ME TOMORROW.”

  13. I was stunned to hear very little in the way of fireworks yesterday. Fortunately, none of our kitties ever minded much but my childhood puppy had to be given a mild sedative during thunderstorms as well as Independence Day. Be well!

  14. We have to agree, Tinslee. Mom thinks the four or five public displays around here had all the fireworks from last year’s rained out event plus the new ones this year. Poor Timber has been in hiding all day and doesn’t want to eat. It was the worst night we can remember.

    Woos – Misty and Timber

  15. That photo of you smiling is just the sweetest! The boomers aren’t too bad around here thankfully (just the city fireworks show on the 3rd), and Mudpie isn’t particularly bothered by them.

  16. I’m sorry the boomies were bad there, we didn’t have much here and we’re thankful.

The basket is sturdy, I’m sure, your parents wouldn’t put anything up for you they weren’t confident would be safe. Remember how they got rid of the dangerous chair?

  17. We’re so sorry you had so many boomies…why can’t humans celebrate more quietly, dear Tinslee. Hope it’s better tonight and you can relax more easily.

  18. Yeah, we have neighbors a few houses away that love home fireworks. But at least they didn’t do as much or as loudly as in the past. We didn’t even have to hide (much).

  19. My best place to hide from the boomies is in the bed between my Mommy and Daddy (with lots of CBD oil and Valerian in my supper!) XOX Xena
