Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Being Prepared

Meow Sierra!

Hello everyone, it’s me Maxwell and I’m here for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks to you all for stopping by. We are always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today is kind of one of those thankful in advance things, but today we’re all thankful for all the first responders and dedicated people who are getting prepared for a Winter storm here in the South. There are lots and lots of people who have to work regardless of how the weather goes. We’re thankful for the road crews doing road prep, all first responders who will be out there reponding to emergency needs, healthcare workers who will always show up to take care of their patients and so many others. If you haven’t heard, the weather guessers are, as of now, predicting a major to catastrophic ice or snow storm here. This would be one time where we would be thankful if the weather guessers are wrong.

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Please remember to visit our stores on Etsy and at The Tee Shirt Site.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

  2. Hi there, handsome Maxwell. We are thankful for all those folks who prepare for emergencies so we can all stay safe. We hope the weather guesser are wrong this time, too!

  3. Maxwell, you are one handsome cat dude! Oh yeah we do love the first responders! We’re dreading the possibility of icy precip here too!

  4. Handsome Maxwell!
Yes indeed, we know petcretary has to go to her work, in all kinds of weather, thankfully not nearly as often as in the past.
We have seen the forecasts for you area and it seems scary. Let’s pray it won’t be nearly as bad as they say…or that it doesn’t happen. We are all thankful for those who keep the roads drivable as best they can,and that anyone who has to drive in it, take lots of extra time.
For our area the ice isn’t a factor, though we’ll see more snow, but less than to the west of us, by the lakeshore. The real problem here will be the bitter cold, with a predicted low of -14 on Saturday night, and that doesn’t include the wind chill. Brrr!
Stay safe, and warm! Hope your ferals will be OK.

  5. I am praying for protection for all of you at Brians Home and for the others in your area. this sounds like a hurricane, but with ice/snow/sleet and other icky stuff. Plus the COLD. I somehow missed this. will check it out now… hugs and love to all of you

  6. We know the road crews around here are getting prepared for a MAJOR snow and maybe ice event. Hopefully people will stay off the interstates so they can be clear for those who HAVE to get somewhere. We have lots of firewood on standby and plenty of food (Mom and Dad have done TWO grocery trips this week!)……I know we’ll be cozy. Let’s hope everyone is safe, warm and gets through this storm.

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam

  7. We will be very thankful on this storm is over because it’s obviously going clear across the country. We are also going to be thankful that we’re getting snow and not ice. It will be so much dangerous for everybody in the south.

  8. We hope your storm won’t be too bad. We are going to be in close to record cold for 72 hours starting later today, actual temps in -20’s and wind chills around -40 to -50. Needless to say, we won’t be walking much the next few days.

  9. I was an essential worker. As I am at the highest point atop a mountain, I would call in..say someone will have to come and get me and bring me back. “They”, the persons who were told to get me, had the right vehicles the chains and whatever else was needed. It was a hairy time trying to get back and forth. With the ice…it was much more difficult to get up here.

  10. What a wonderful thankful today, Maxwell. We are hoping the weather guessers are wrong about this storm, but Mama is making sure we have everything ready just in case!
    xoxo,
    Rosy & Sunny

  11. winter storm…. I’m kinda jealous… warm and sunny not snowy in Colorado…we need snow and I need seasons but that’s not what we have

  12. The Z Kids and I will certainly be thankful if the NWS is wrong about this storm! I can handle snow, even a foot’s worth; but freezing rain? No. Thank. You!!! I worry about the trees behind our back fence more than I do our big oaks. At least Sam & I have always done our best to take care of our trees; but the owner of the property behind us is a sleazy realtor who couldn’t care less about his own property never mind anyone else’s. Meanwhile I have to get some milk today.

    Stay safe!

  13. We’re thankful for them too. They do such wonderful and important work. Stay safe.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and my very best to their wonderful peeps. ♥

  14. Mum and I are thankful that so far Winter has not been too bad for us.
However, Winter is far from over. Being in Canada, we are accustomed to
snowy Winters, though it has not been too bad so far. I am sending purrs that things will not be too bad for you!
    Purrs Winnie

  15. Charlee: “Batten down those hatches, guys! This storm sounds like it’s going to be really off the hook with the cold and the snow!”
Lulu: “I think it sounds like fun.”
Charlee: “Yes well that’s because you’re a crazy Malamute/Husky mix.”

  16. I am not looking forward to this storm and pray that none of us lose our power, but if we do then I hope it’s restored quickly. We don’t have an alternative heat source, so it makes for miserable conditions. Despite this I’m so thankful to have shelter from the elements. Sadly, some hoomans and furbabies aren’t so fortunate. Y’all keep warm and be safe. Have a blessed weekend!
