Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Two Health Thankfuls

Meow Sierra!

Hello everyone, it’s me Maxwell and I’m here for Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks to you all for stopping by. We are always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today we have two health thankfuls, yes, two. First, Kiki says thanks for all the well wishes on her Vet visit on Tuesday. She checked out fine and got her required rabies vaccine. She was good in the car and she was good for the Vet and the Vet Tech. Kiki got to meet Wally, the Vet’s Office Kitty, and she was nice and polite and Wally always is polite. We are most thankful that Kiki had a good checkup!

Then, one you didn’t know about, we’re thankful that our Dad got some good news. He was having some unusual swelling around his neck which resulted in his primary care doctor ordering an ultrasound. Dang, the ultrasound showed something “moderately suspicious” with his thyroid, which then meant a referral to an ENT specialist. Dad took the first available appointment and ended up with one of the top ENT docs. The ENT Doctor did a thorough exam of our Dad and reviewed the ultrasound. He determined that, at least at this point in time, there is nothing to worry about. They will check his thyroid again in a year. We’re thankful for that good news and so was our Papa!

  1. Maxwell OMCs the health of all our family members is what counts the most and keeps us all going…
I’m very thankful your precious Dad got good news. At our ‘young age’ we here are all about monitoring and maintaining and making the best of each and every nanosecond.
Hugs and cuddles to your staff and your siblings

  2. Hi Maxwell! Thank you for sharing those good updates with us. Hooray for Kiki’s good vet visit, and we are so glad to know Dad Terry is going to be okay. Hugs to you all!

  3. So glad to hear both bits of good news! Kiki sounds like such a brave girl at the vet, and it’s wonderful that she even made a polite new friend there. And what a relief about your Dad’s thyroid check — that kind of waiting can be so stressful, so I’m thankful right along with you for the reassuring outcome.
Wishing continued good health for all of you! 🐾

  4. Now those are two huge thankfuls, Maxwell! We are not feeling very thankful at the moment, as it is so hot, but we probably should be thankful that we have had no power outages so far. If we didn’t have our fans, we would probably all collapse.

    Purrs,
    The Chans

  5. Kiki, we are so glad you had good results at the vet, and also that you were on your best behavior! And big yay for all your Dad Terry’s tests being okay, too!

  6. So happy to hear Kiki is in great shape AND that your Dad is in good hands keeping an eye on his thyroid but for now is AOK. My Mom and Dad are (forgive me for this) getting older (!) and so lots of stuff acts up and needs checking and I have to keep an eye on both of them…..we need our Mom and Dad to be in good shape right? Right? So we are very happy that your Dad is staying on top of his health. Happy Thursday to everyone!

    Hugs, Teddy

  7. Thank goodness for Dad that the news ended up being not bad news. Just scary at the moment. Glad to hear that Kiki did so well going to the doctor. Now they both have that behind them and let’s hope there’s no more doctor visits for any of you.

  8. I’m glad all was fine with Kiki. She really is a good girl, so well behaved.

I’m also glad your dad doesn’t need further treatment or surgery at this time. Fingers crossed that remains the case. ❤️

When I was in my early 20s, I had a large benign tumour on my thyroid. Eventually it was removed, and knock on wood, it’s been okay since. (I do take thyroid meds, though.)

  9. We are happy to hear the two doctor visits went well. It would be scary with the thyroid but we are glad the specialist didn’t find anything concerning.

  10. Grandes motivos para agradecer e fico feliz por teu pai..
    Coisa boa descartado algo pior!
    Beleza!
    beijos, lindo dia, chica

  11. That is great news. I am glad your dad and Kiki are healthy. Thank you for hosting. Have a nice day. XO

  12. I am grateful for the excellent news about Kiki and that your Dad drew a top doctor regarding what was the matter with his neck. WHEW!! on catching it early and that it is in a place right now that there is no immediate concern.

  13. Two wonderful health updates. Bravo.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties and my very best to their wonderful peeps. ♥

  14. I’m happy for the good health reports. I’m glad things went well with the Dad. I didn’t realize thyroid issues are referred to an ENT. Is there anything the Dad can do for the swelling, change in diet or supplements? Maybe, he can treat it himself, if the doctor isn’t overly concerned now.

  15. whew! so glad for both of you!
good to know things to look out for as well, as I age the body is not the same almost daily

  16. Well, that’s weird…my comment from yesterday didn’t show up.
Anyhoo, Kiki, we are happy that your vet visit went well, and did you know that humans dislike going to the human ‘vet’ as much or even more than cattos?
Yep; our blood pressure goes up, we forget all of the questions that we wanted to ask, and run out when it’s done like the hounds of heck are on our heels.
So am sure the your Dad was glad to hear, ‘see ya in a year!’

  17. I’m so happy the visits went well, especially for your dad. That must have been a huge relief. ❤️

  18. SO glad for the good medical news. Those thyroid thingies have some weird behavious at times and usually it’s not too seious….mama had a couple once…Good health to all and so glad Kiki is okay.

  19. Charlee: “That is great news about your Dad! He is an excellent one and we want him to stick around for a good long time!”
Chaplin: “We’re glad Kiki had a good visit with the vet! We usually spend our visits hiding in the crate or trying to escape. Well, except for Oona.”
Oona: “Everyone at the vet is a big fan of Oona because she is such a bold kitty. LIKE A NINJA. Perhaps you two should try it.”

  20. Kizmet is thankful she got a birthday party. We are happy to hear that both Kiki and dad Terry checked out okay. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
